I'm very reluctant nowadays to update my blog but lucky me there are people who actually read and ask me to update it. Thanks Waliz and to others who email or leave comments. Waliz I'm performing a kind of garage sale now but not from the garage... it's online. I'll talk about this in my upcoming post. I also bought a few new gadgets to add to what I have... many are second hands item. Okay till next post.

Item received

I have received the item I ordered through Ebay from a camera store in NY, USA. I ordered the item on 29th Oct and I receive it today 2nd November. Only 5 days. Wonderful I'll definitely buy from overseas seller again. Thanks waliz for your prayer. I'll put the photo of the item later.

My First Buy from Overseas Seller on Ebay

I have been buying from online auction sites for quite sometimes but all the while my purchases were made from local seller. Today I made a leap by purchasing camera lenses from a US company on Ebay. I paid using Paypal (through my credit card). So after this is the wait for the item to arrive (1-2 weeks). Pray that this purchase is going to bea success or this will be the first and the last I buy from oversea's seller.

Nikon P5100

I bought a new camera yesterday. The latest compact camera from Nikon. It is advertised as the flagship of the Nikon Coolpix line. I'll be talking more about this camera on my coming posting.

Apple - Finally I'm converted

After years of listening and reading about the superiority of the Apple I finally submited to it. I change my dell laptop to an Ibook G4 from the school lab. After formating it and reinstall the OS X, I use it all the time now even to type this blog over my dell xps which come with a far superior processor. It is easy to use and fun too. A very different experience compared to windows. Installing and unistalling program is much easier done in Apple OSx. The fluidity of its windows open and shut on the desktop amazed me. Now I 'm thinking of buying one my own a macbook.

i-phone revisit

After the posting on i-phone I actually hunt around for one on ebay and lelong. I found a few and almost bought one. However before I make a bid I make a last minute research and found out that i-phone does not have a stylus. How can I live with a phone without a stylus. I m a PDA freak, always scribbling my stylus of my PDA. So that's the end of my love affair with i-phone. Now, I think I'll get an SLR camera with the money for i-phone. I'm hunting for an SLR camera now.

i-phone - i-want-one

Finally the i-phone reached our shore. However is not through the apple distributor here but through gray imports. The i-phones were either from the US or Hong Kong. I saw the ads on lelong. A number of sellers are selling them but the price are very expensive RM 2700 ++. I'm hoping to get one if any of this seller are willing to part with their phone for something less than RM2000 I would definitely take it.

Pocket Islam Revisit

To those interested in installing Pocket Islam on their Pocket PC Pda here are some tips on how to do it.

Connect your PDA to your PC then click on the downloaded file to start the installation. Make sure your PC is already equipped with the latest active sync for win XP or Windows mobile device centre for Win Vista. Follow the on screen instruction on the PDA. If asked whether to install on device on storage card, choose storage card as it may slow down the PDA if you install it on the device.
Apart from the main program there are also add-ons that you can download like the

1. Hadith collection Sahih Muslim and also Sahih Bukhari
2. Pocket Azan collection
3. Malay translation for Quran
4. By default only some surah and ayat are install with audio so if if you the audio for the whole Quran you can get it on your own. Quran Audio 24 bit or 16 bit ( For Quran Audio, need to copy this to your Pocket PC storage card in the : storage card/Program Files/Pocket Islam/Quran). You can either do this through your usb connection or take out the storage card and use a card reader)
5. If you choose not to install all the Quran audio but only some you can use this download manager

Canon Powershot G9

I came across a website on the launched of the new Canon Powershot G9. It is known as the flagship of the powershot series. Made to look like the classic range finder but packs the latest in compact digital photography. I only read about it. I have used and tried even owned most of the camera made however canon had never been one except for the time I used the film type canon prima. I hope to get this camera as it fits most of my needs. I photograph events, group photos for my school, my club and also the kampung. For outdoor, sports and action photography I used a Lumix FZ5. I'm not a pro, I'm just someone who like to take photos. This camera caters my need for simplicity yet it also offers me the chance for me to play with the manual mode that it offers. Furthermore I like the fact that this camera has the face detection function this is because it will be a great help when I shoot photos of people at function and also group photo. The faces tend to be to shiny or dark sometimes blurred so with the face detection tech. I hope it will end my problem with people 's faces. Edifier MP220

I bought a speaker for my laptop. It is an edifier mp220 which a very small speaker that can be powered by USB cable. I bought it from lelong for RM67 the market price for this unit is RM99. This unit make it easier for to use my laptop in the classroom. As the classes that I'm teaching are not equipped with speakers this small speaker is very handy. I don't have to use the electric socket to power it. The sound that comes out of this system is acceptably loud and clear considering its size.

Buying A New Camera.

I'm in the market for a new camera, I already have a few digital camera 4 to be exact. There are many choices of camera compact, prosumer or slr. So now I still can't make up my mind as each one has their own advantage and apart from there are many camera brands and model out which make my search more difficult. However lucky for me because we have the pleasure of searching for info on the internet at least I don't have to go to the camera shop to find out about the camera. If you're planning to buy a camera too go here for info of the cameras on the market and you can even make model comparison.

You don't have to spend that much on PSP UMD you can actually get the game for free online or you can buy it on cd which cost around rm 10 to RM30 in KL. Ask the shop for info. I can help you if you are familiar with computer because I don't spend that much on my PSP.

My PSP

I don't have the time to play my Sony PSP. It is a shame that I could only play with it during school holidays. Sometimes I'm more childish than my children. I would be eagerly waiting for school holidays so that I could play computer games. My daughters did not share their father's hobby they prefer to read. Thank god they don't like My PSP if not I'll be competing with them for the time with my PSP.

I Struck Gold!!!

2 weeks ago I bought a camera an Olympus CAMEDIA FE5500 from an auction site. It was auctioned at RM1. The seller put the condition of the camera as faulty because he was not sure whether it still works or not. I won the camera at RM120. Bought an olympus battery for RM28 an XD card for RM60 and walla... it works. Lucky me I guees after all those unlucky buy I made on Ebay and Lelong. hahaha... some of you may think ... what is the big deal? I manage to sell the camera for RM250. Hahaha.... without the battery and card which I use for a camera that I already owned an Olympus mju 710

Touchflo on 838pro

I've come across blogs that discuss about the possibility to use touchflo (like HTC Touch) interface on 838pro however none of the writer can confirm if it stable. I'm going to do a research on this issue and I'll post the result the moment I got all the information. I really want to use the touchflo on my 838pro. Buying the HTC Touch is not a solution because looking at the spec and looks it is not meant for serious PDA usage. It is for those who prefer looks rather than performance.

Pocket Islam

My PDA both the 818pro and now the 838pro are equipped with a free software called Pocket Islam. Very useful piece of software for Muslims. It reminds us the time for prayer according to our locality, direction towards mecca from any places in the globe, Quran with audio (karaoke style), Hadith, islamic holidays and calendar. My PDA

I have giveaway my Dopod 818pro to my brother, I got myself a new PDA an HTC Hermes 300 aka Dopod 838pro. The first thing that i realized about the 838pro is the startup time is longer compared to the 818pro. Before 818pro I've used HP 6828 which is very fast but very unstable. I sold it off after using it for 3 weeks. Can't cope with the constant resetting. The 838pro even though slow at start up but show promising power when it is up and running. The reason I change to this PDA is because I got it very cheap only RM2000 but the catch is only one month warranty. But who needs warranty if the price is cheaper by a thousand ringgit. I'm happy with it. I managed to upgrade it to WM6 using rom from Dopod which I can download for free as I'm a registered Dopod user. Tq Dopod.
